Introduction

I've read a lot in my lifetime. I grew up reading works by Isaac Asimov [2] and feel Asimov really had an impact on my curiosity about the future to where I thrived on the moving line from science fiction to science fact. At such a young age, I already understood that the future would be filled with such technological wonders. I wasn't a fan of music then as I am today, but I can tell you that I really enjoyed the 1969 hit song "In the Year 2525" [3] and aside from the aforementioned specifics of the year, this is one of my favorites, and the most prophetic, lines:

"In the year 5555

Your arms hangin' limp at your sides

Your legs got nothin' to do

Some machine's doin' that for you"

At the rate we are going, we may be witnessing this shortly in just a lifetime or two…. And of course, as the song also states, "if [the hu]man is still alive". I implore you to check out the song, it's catchy and has some....
