In this article, I decided to talk about an analysis I did on my video game, using an advanced data recovery option.
The question I was asked when I told them about the situation was: What would motivate a person to analyze their device? If you work with information security, you certainly already know the answer or, if you are studying and starting to understand this universe, the answer will come with some technical introductions. And if you don't know the subject, but are curious, I suggest you rethink and take some precautions on your devices after reading this article.
This article, despite being technical, is an open invitation to everyone who has computing devices, including video games.
My Motivation
It all started when I decided to reuse the 500gb drive that was inside an Xbox One that was no longer in use.
The console was released around December 2013 and we bought it in 2014, at the BestBuy store in Mexico City. Unfortunately, we had some problems with this console, including three power supply replacements, so we decided to retire it.
It had never been opened by us before. I even recorded a video of the moment I opened the console and was surprised by the amount of dust. Considering that it was sealed for 10 years, it was expected to find some misplaced....
