This is the information age. Virtually all aspects of our lives are in one way or the other linked to information technology, almost everything we do at home and at work generates an electronic footprint in the form of electronically stored information (ESI). Such ESI are not only relevant for investigating IT related crime or breaches, but almost every kind of issue. In the corporate environment, staff behavior can be monitored and reviewed using ESI, or criminal and civil proceedings might require them as evidence in the event of litigation. eDiscovery is needed for all these, and how it is handled can make or mar a business. This course seeks to introduce the concept of eDiscovery and how it relates to an organization, both from the point of view of technology and the legal front.

  1. RABIDFOX

Great introduction to eDiscovery it covers both UK and US with a focus on the US but theres a good comparison part in one of the modules. The homework tasks were quite fun and refreshing to break up the theory part. I hope they do a more advanced course maybe covering some of the tools used like relativity. my one gripe is the videos can be a bit echoey at times.

  2. Gregory W. Ledenbach

I felt the course itself is very useful. I do not believe the “Homework” essay questions added value to my learning. They took an inordinate amount of time for very little, it any, gain. I believe the practical exercises added value, they and the quizzes demonstrated that the knowledge was attained. Without the “homework”, it would given the course 5 stars.
I was on a time budget that required me to complete the course quickly. I would like to thank the instructor, Dauda Sule, for his excellent support by being available at some very late and weekend hours, and his feedback and encouragement. I also had some website issue and would like to thank Marta Ziemianowicz and Joanna Kretowicz for their support. Overall dealing with eForensics Magazine was a good experience!
